Sip & Sew Day

My sister has been over today to use her sewing machine for the first time since she was given it for Christmas and she really wanted to make some bunting.

So I made some cupcakes for the occasion and we have been making bunting triangles, sipping tea and nibbling cupcakes today.

I have never made anything with my sewing machine and so although my bunting is a little rough around the edges I don't think I have done a bad job of it.

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

Granny Squares

I have been on holiday all this week and spending a lot of time crafting and my main project of the week is creating a Granny Square blanket.
I realised that I haven't actually made anything for me in the whole time I have been crocheting! I usually make things for my friends and family and to sell on my craft stall, but I have never ever sat down and made something for my home and so this week I sat down with my wool and began making granny squares in 3 gorgeous colours that I always find look lovely together and I am on a roll.
So far I have 24 squares made, but I have a long way to go before I have made enough for a decent sized blanket and I have a feeling it is going to cost me quite a bit in materials as I am using the Sublime wool that I love so much.

I am such an avid crocheter that I even packed my crochet hook and wool in my suitcase and took them to The Netherlands with me last weekend :o)
My husband and I were visiting family there and we had a wonderful time and are hoping to book some flights to travel over there again next year, I cant wait!!!

crocheted Baby Booties

It has been a very busy few weeks with lots going on at work and at home. My work life seems to have quietened down a bit thank goodness and I am now looking forward to my holiday. I have 2 days of work left and then I have 11 days of freedom :o) and some time to spend with my hobbies, but before then MR Perry and I are off to visit family in The Netherlands and I am so looking forward to it.

Above you may have noticed my baby boy crocheted booties, I love this pattern and have made several pairs in both blue and of course pink. I have used Sublime yarn for them as this is a Silk, Cashmere and Merino wool blend making it beautifully soft for delicate little feet.

Crocheted Mistletoe xxx

Well I am on a roll with my crochet this week 5 crocheted Christmas Puddings, about a dozen Toadstools, a few ice-creams and my latest creation which is the crocheted mistletoe that I am sharing with you today.

I am starting to get quite a good amount of stock made for my Christmas craft fair this year.

I have made the most of my weekend to get some serious crafting done and it has definitely paid off.

Crocheted Christmas Puddings

I cannot tell you how glad I am that it is Friday!! It has been a long, tiring week with lots going on at work and I am now looking forward to a little break and some quality time spent crafting.

In my spare time this week I have been crocheting Christmas Puddings in preparation for my Christmas craft fairs and so far I have managed to make 4 of them and sold one on my Etsy store which I was really chuffed about and I also sold an ice-cream, so a good week for my little online shop :o) These will both be posted tomorrow and will hopefully be with there new owners by the middle of next week.

Its going to be a wet weekend, but I am OK with that because I wont feel so guilty about cuddling up on the sofa and crocheting all day. I may look up from my crochet to go and do some shopping for more crafting supplies or to read my new book 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' (Its brilliant!!!), but over all its going to be a lazy weekend.

Christmas Fair Prep

I have been working on building up my collection of stock to take with me to this years Christmas Vintage Fair. So far I have quite a few Toadstools in a variety of bright colours and the newest edition to my crochet patterns is the ice-cream. The ice-cream has been very popular among my family and friends so I am hoping that it will do well at the fair.

I am hoping to hold a fair in the Spring of 2012 as I wasn't able to this year due to the fact that I completely sold out of stock at the Christmas fairs I held so I have learnt my lesson and will make a lot more stuff this year.

Hopefully I will be able to write up my patterns and sell them as well :o)

Crochet Ballerina

I have been working on this little project for a while now and she is finally finished :o) and I love the end result. This was created using a pattern I purchased on Etsy by the very talented Owlishly, she makes the cutest Amigurumi Doll patterns. I also have her Mermaid pattern and this will probably be the next project that I take on.

This was a fairly easy pattern to follow, but the head of the doll is very time consuming because you have to embroider the hair, but trust me the results are wonderful and definitely worth all of the hard work that you put in and once the head is completed the body takes a fraction of the time.

I love her and will be giving her as a gift to my niece when we go to visit them in August :o)

Its a Beautiful Day

The weather is absolutely gorgeous today, it feels like a hot summers day and I hope that it lasts because I could get used to this.
No sign of any April showers (touch wood) and I am keeping everything crossed that the weather is like this next Friday for the Royal Wedding.

I have decided to throw a tea party on the day of the Royal Wedding with some fun stuff for the kids to as well. I have my red, white and blue bunting and I have the Victoria sponge ingredients ready and waiting and Mr P is hoping to get the BBQ fired up so the sun had better shine on the 29th April for Kate and Wills.

I have been pretty busy today making cards to show you all and all of the lovely Anya's were coloured in using my Copics - they blend beautifully although my pictures do not do them justice at all.

I seem to have lost my ability to take decent snaps of my work and so I think it may be time to get one of those little photo booths that people are talking (I need to do some more research on this) I have seen them used and I have to say it does make an improvement on the look of the photographs.
Another investment I think!!???

I have decided however that I really must use some of my current stash of materials before buying anything else - we will see how long that lasts!!!

I can't seem to control the car when I am anywhere near Hobby Craft and the steering wheel seems to have a mind of its own and drive me straight in to Hobby Crafts parking spaces and then it just seems rude not to pop in and see what they have available and then it is incredibly sad to walk away empty handed so I have to pick a few items and then those items would look really good with those embellishments and so on - do you see my dilemma?

Right I am off to enjoy a nice walk in the sunshine before it goes to sleep for the day. Hope Mr Sunshine comes out and puts his hat on again tomorrow :o)

Crocheted Dinosaurs

Its been a busy few weeks moving all of our things in to our new home and making it comfortable and we finally have it looking how we want it arghhh and we can both relax and enjoy it.

I even have my craft room all set up now and it is so lovely, I now spend most of my time there in fact as I type this blog entry I am sat in my room :o) I will upload some pictures for you shortly.

for todays post I thought I would share my crocheted Dinosaur friends with you. This is another pattern from PlanetJune and it is fabulous. They are incredibly easy to make and my friends little boy loved them.
You can find Junes blog here she is such a talented lady and the best part about her patterns is that she is completely happy for you to sell any of the items that you have made using them which I think is incredibly kind and generous of her. I make so many animals through pure enjoyment of the craft that by Christmas I have mountains of them, far too many to give them all as gifts so I sell them on at Christmas craft fairs and people love them, Thank you June xxx

I Love Copics!!!!

I have been saving my pennies for some time now and I finally had the cash to buy myself some Copics!!! and they arrived via FedEx today so I have been colouring with them non-sop since I came in from work and I have to say that they were worth every penny because my Anya stamps have never looked so vibrant.

I will be making some cards with the images that I have coloured in today so keep checking back to see what I have created with them. I cant take any pictures of my creations at the moment because my sister has my camera on loan for the trip she took to Africa to climb Kilimanjaro in aid of a local charity. I am so proud of her for completing something so challenging and I cant wait to see all her pictures.

I have to say looking at the image above although she had to climb this whopper of a mountain and sleep rough for a week I am so jealous of her (in a good way)

So now that I have my Copics I need to find a new kind and loving home for my Promarkers because two sets of different pens is a tad over the top and I won't be using them now.

A Basket Full of Bunnies

I have been quite busy over the weekend crocheting this basket full of Bunnies and arent they adorable :o)

The pattern was created by the extremely talented June Gillbank and you can visit her Etsy store for more patterns here.
I love all of her patterns and own a fair few of them and will be making and showing these throughout the year.

These little rabbits are part of the PocketAmi set and they are so adorable. In this set you get a mini pig pattern, a mouse pattern, a bird pattern, a butterfly, a mini sheep and of course the mini bunnies.
I have slightly adapted these little bunnies by giving them a white pom pom tail instead if a brown crocheted tail, but both are equally as cute :o) I love them and they are going to make fantastic Easter gifts.

I Don't Want to Go to Work Today

I am super tired this morning and I am just about to go out the door and off to work, but I don't want to go :o.(
I probably had the worst nights sleep of my entire life last night and this morning I am really suffering.
How am I going to survive an entire day in the office when I feel so drowsy?? and it's all because my body just did not want to shut down and reboot.

Perhaps I can the afternoon off work - if I make it that long zzzzzzzzzzz

Our New Home

At long last me and Mr P have moved in to a new home and I cannot tell you how super thrilled I am to have my own home again. As many of you will know me and Mr P have lived with his parents for almost 3 years and 2011 was the year to pack up our belongings and flee the nest

There are several perks to this:

I have my own room where I can craft - a very big plus
I can finally join in with the WOYWW
I can stay up late on the weekends
I can have long baths without anyone needing to use the bathroom
I get to use my recipe books
I can have all my friends and family round for tea
I can decorate the house and buy lots of vintagey things for my home
and last but not least I get to spend alone time with Mr P

There are many other perks but I couldnt possibly list them all. Dont get me wrong I love my in-laws and they have been very good to us over the years and I will miss them and tears were shed on moving day, but they only live only 15 minutes away so they can visit us and we can visit them.

I hope you like the look of our new home.

The Big Freeze

I have almost finished my Christmas shopping and thank goodness I have because it really is cold outside, brrrrrr and its due to get colder and we are expected to have some MORE snow again tonight and over the course of the week which is a little worrying as there is already 4" of snow on the ground and the roads are almost impossible to drive on.
My poor husband has not yet finished for his Christmas holidays and is having to drive in to work this evening and I do worry about him even though he is a very good driver and my heart goes out to everyone who is stranded and unable to get home for Christmas - I am currently listening to the news as I type and there is nothing but stories about cars that have broken down and footage of people sleeping in airports who are devastated about not being able to get home to their families - my thoughts are with them all xxx

I mentioned that I have almost completed my shopping and braved the weather today to go and pick up a few presents from the main shopping centre the only shopping left to do is at the supermarket so when I was wrapping my last presents this afternoon and I ran out of wrapping paper I had to improvise because there was no way that I was going back out in the snow today so I grabbed a snowflake stamp, a red ink pad and some brown paper and got to work making my own wrapping paper and now all my presents are wrapped and my feet stayed warm :o)

and I think that my wrapping looks pretty good if I must say so myself :o)

Vintage Craft Fair - MadCap Theatre

I had my last fair of the year today and what a great way to end the year. The fair was organised by the very friendly Laura and it was fantastic and super busy all day. I have been to a few fairs in the past, but this was by far the busiest fair I have ever held a stall at, there were hoards of people piling through the doors and the only time that we had a quiet period was when the fair ended at 3pm.
I sold out of everything!!!! and left with no stock at all, but a pot of money which I will use to but more crafting goodies in preparation for next years fairs.

For those of you who came along today thank you it was a great day and will be holding stalls here in the future.
Now that I have finished making things for my fairs I will now start adding my creations to my blog and there will be a few new items making an appearance on here so keep checking back.

It was brrrrrilliant!!!

Sunday 28th November was a freezing cold day, but I braved the weather and the fear that it may snow and packed up my car ready for the MaKe Craft Fair. My Mum came along to help me set up and serve customers and we had a lovely day.

I met some really lovely people including Kirsty she had so many gorgeous things on her stall and I couldnt resist her gorgeous Babushka dolls, I also met Laura who is so nice and has her very own store in the Wolverton area called Boutique73 and she invited me to another craft fair, which I am very excited about.

I had to snap some pictures of my stall and the hall filled with very talented crafters, there were so many unique and wonderful things and it was so nice to chat with the people that had made them. Julia had some very lovely cards and right in front of me was a lady selling some rather yummy chocolates, so tempting and not good when you are on a diet :o(

I had an awesome day and it was made even better by the fact that my Nan, Sister, Mother In-Law and Husband all came to visit and give their support throughout the day.

I sold lots of crocheted Toadstools, Cupcakes and Christmas Puddings and have a few orders to complete. Its was a busy day and as soon as my head hit the pillow that evening I was fast asleep.

MaKe Event - Sunday 28th November

Hello again Bloggers.
Well I have been super busy preparing myself for my craft fair which was scheduled for August but sadly it was cancelled, but its all ok because I am now doing the Christmas Craft Fair instead and this way it gives me plenty more time to make lots more.

I have also been searching the internet for a good online craft website where I can sell my things to the British public. I have my Etsy store but it is all in dollars and so I wanted a UK version and so I have found a site called Coriandr which I think is brilliant and I have some of my things listed on there already. I sold a Mushroom

I couldn't believe it when I visited my Etsy store to find that I had sold a Mushroom :o) and I wanted to share my joy with you.

I know, I know I have been away from my blog for quite sometime again and I am really sorry for not updating it more regularly. Its been pretty hectic over the past few months and I just havent had anytime to update and I have a feeling it will be like this for some time yet...my new job is great, however it is very challenging and I am just not finding the time or the inspiration to craft in the evenings :o(

Hopefully I will find my mojo again soon, but for now I am afraid the blogging is going to be few and far between. I am also finding it increasingly difficult to craft on my bedroom floor as I have way too much stuff to take out of my cupboard and put back again and it does make a huge mess all over the floor and my poor husband cannot get past me...we are so close to the amount that we wish to save and come January I am hoping that we will have a whole house rather than just one room and then my crafting will take a turn for the better.

I am still making the odd crocheted blanket or toy as I can just sit on my bed and do this at my leisure and it doesn't require a lot of space, so for now the paper crafting (sadly) is on hold for a little while.

On a brighter note I have become a little obsessed with cycling and have been out quite a lot over the past few weeks and last Sunday I completed the London To Brighton cycle ride for the British Heart Foundation.
It was a total of 54 miles and my husband and I enjoyed every minute of it and intend on doing it again next year and we might even try the Oxford to Cambridge one this October which is 84 miles. It was such a rewarding experience.

I cannot believe that I finally have a little Etsy store and that it actually has items for sale in it. Its so nice to see them sat there for the world to see.

I am going to try and fill up my store with things to buy, but with the MaKe Craft Fair coming up there may not be lots on there at the moment.

I am so super pleased with, but I am sure it will change over the time. I am still getting used to how to do things and how much postage to charge and what details are necessary for good sales, but I am sure this knowledge will come with time.

Crochet Baby Hats

Well I have been very busy making lots of crocheted items and hand made cards for my craft fair on the 30th August 2010. I have also been working on setting up an Etsy shop so that I have somewhere that people can purchase the things that I have made. The Etsy store is a work in progress and I am hoping to have it completed with items to sell on there by the time August comes around.

These little hats will probably be the first items to go up on there so I thought I would share them with you on here first. I quite liked the idea of having little twin sets as little inexpensive gifts to give at baby showers. I sell my little hats for £3.50 each so for this set of two it would cost £7.00 in total (what do you think of the price? too high or too low?) I am not much good at the whole pricing thing.

Oh yeah!! I got the job that I applied for and I am so pleased. I will now be a Personal Assistant to the head of my new department. I start on the 7th June and I am super nervous, but I hoping it will be a new and exciting challenge for me.

Other exciting news is that my sister is having another baby, which I have probably mentioned, however we have recently been told that she is having a little boy :o) and his name will be Alfie (so cute).

I am sorry that I have not be blogging as regularly these past few months, its been pretty busy and its not really letting up at all...I will try to update my blog more often and i hope that you don't think that I have abandoned my blog.

Hope you are all well, its been a little while since my last post. I haven't been crafting an awful lot just lately, I have been applying for jobs and I can tell you its a tough old world out there in job searching land, but today a stroke of luck, hooray!!!! I have been short listed for an interview and its next Friday, so lots more preparation is in order.

I will try to blog a lot more frequently, but I am finding it a struggle as my laptop is still not well :o( I miss it terribly, but I am sure it will be back to its old self again soon.

I actually have lots of things to share with you, most of them are my crocheted projects that I have been working on for my craft fair in August, I have some awesome crocheted flowers which I love making at the moment. they are so quick and easy to make and I can use them on my hand made cards as well, hopefully I will find some time this week to make a few cards using them.

I hope you like todays card, Fairy Princess Anya is very colourful in this particular card and it was inspired by the cartoon Rainbow Brite, which I used to watch as a child

I love recieving awards its so exciting and this one is a rather pretty award.
One of the rules of recieving this award is that you must list 7 crafty facts about yourself and to then pass it on to some of your fellow blogging friends, sounds like fun so here goes:

1. I have always enjoyed arts and crafts and have two crafty A Levels in Art and Graphic Design and a GNVQ in Art and Design. I miss studying these and hope to return to something similar in the near future.

2. I started off making cards 7 years ago in order to keep my creative juices flowing. I still love making cards, but also enjoy scrapbooking and my current passion is crochet (love Amigurumi) and I am hoping my Mum will teach me to knit next.

3. I love to see my hand made items selling when I hold craft stalls or when I sell cards at work, I get a bit of buzz from it even if I dont make the money back that it cost to make them or for the price of my stall.

4. I am obsessed with colours and often buy crafting materials because I love the colour and then don't know what to do with them.

5. I have way too many stamps and some of them I haven't even used and I have a slight obsession with The Greetings Farm stamps.

6. I would like to start holding a charity event selling my hand made items in aid of the Special Care Baby Units and hope to put this in to action in 2011.

7. I love colouring in and will often sit for hours just stamping images and colouring them in without any particular card or project in mind.

too much chocolate...

...is never a bad thing, however I now need to go on a huge diet to burn off the large quantities of chocolate that I consumed yesterday, which is not so fun :o(

I did have a lovely day yesterday and even managed to get some crochet projects completed which I will photograph and blog a little later in the week. I have made a little pair of shoes and they are super cute. It was a pattern that I found on Etsy and as soon as I saw them I new I had to give them a go.

Todays card has been made with my new cupcake stamp set from Kanban (awesome stamp set) I have been looking to buy a stamp set with cupcakes on it for some time now and was going to purchase the Hero Arts one until I saw this. It has around 6 different cupcakes as well as loads of fun sentiments to match, including the one I have used on this card. To colour in the image I used my Promarkers and managed to use the gorgeous mini ric rac that I found at the NEC.

Happy Easter

Hey there everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your Easter.
We are having a big roast dinner today and then my husband and I are going to see Clash of the Titans, which I am pretty excited about as I loved the original version.

This card has been made using Ebony from The Greetings Farm and she is very fun to work with, I loved colouring her in and the style that I needed to adapt to fit with what she was wearing. I coloured her in using my Promarkers (of course) and I managed to find a little felt motif in my bits 'n' bobs box of a skull and cross bones on a heart which was a little find from Hobby Craft.

Hope you like it, I am now off to devour an Easter egg, mmm

Birmingham NEC

I went to the Birmingham NEC Craft Show at the weekend with my friend and it was amazing. There was so much to see and I spent way too much money :o) but ended up getting some beautiful new crafting products including a couple of the new Magnolia stamps (which are super cute) I love the princess above, I don't own many Magnolia images as I am more of a Greetings Farm girl, but I thought I would get a couple and I have to say they are lovely to work with.

and above is the other magnolia stamp I purchased he is so sweet.

I coloured both the Princess magnolia and Pirate Edwin with my Promarkers and used a couple of the charms that I purchased at the show and on the Princess card I have used my new Martha Stewart Punch, which I love!! I own two of these marvellous punches now and I am a little addicted to them and want more (in time maybe)

I have personalised my hand made box using them and it really does give a fabulous professional look, this particular box is for the crocheted baby hat and booties that I have made for a lady at work who will very soon be going on maternity leave. If at first you don't succeed...

..then you must try, try again.
Sadly I did not get the job :o( but I would like to thank all of you for your well wishes they meant a lot :o)
Its a tough old world out there in the job hunting world and with my current contract coming to an end in July I am getting a little worried, but my friends and family have all said that there is something round the corner for me and that I just have to keep on applying.

Today I have three cards to share with you. All of them are similar in design, but using different colour schemes. The lanterns are from K & Co and they have been in my craft cupboard for a little while now because I am a little bit of a hoarder and if I love a particular embellishment or patterned paper I tend to hold on to it until I am absolutely sure what I want to use it for and I have to say I am glad I waited to use them with Geisha Anya.

This is the first ti,e I have used Geisha Anya in any of my crafting projects and she is so much fun to colour in, you cannot see it in the photographs but I have added some glitter to certain areas of her outfit and just above her eyes using my Sakura gel pens (lurve my Sakura pens) It just gives her a little bit of sparkle. I also used my Woodware oriental stamp set, I just love the Happy Birthday greeting in this set because it adds a bit of interest to the card.

You Go Girl

Well the interview has been and gone and I am just keeping my fingers and toes crossed now, hoping that have done well enough to get the job.
It looks like it will be a very varied job and something that I would enjoy so I really hope I get it.

Todays card has been made using my Cheerleader Anya. I have owned this stamp for quite some time but have never used her before, but I felt that the words "you go girl" are quite relevant as it was something a friend of mine said to me before going off for my interview.

I love the Martha Stewart border that I have used, however sadly I do not own this one, this was a gift from Tracy at Dies to Die for, but I have to say I may have to purchase this one :o)
My favourite part of this card is the pom poms because I made them from yellow and red wool to add a bit of interest to the card and it is actually very effective :o)

Interview Prep

I have an interview tomorrow and the butterflies are starting flutter around in my stomach and I am getting more and more nervous as the hours pass by and so this evening is going to spent preparing myself for tomorrow.

I have a notebook, pen and the job description at the ready all I need to do is have a nice long bath, clear my head and start to jot down some thoughts as to what I can use in my interview tomorrow (wish me luck)

Well as todays post is about preparation I thought I would share a little crafting tip that I use every time I make a card and I need to coordinate the colours. I take the image I would like to use and then I choose a patterned paper that I feel would suit the theme of card I want to make and I also grab my Promarker colour chart. I put all three of them together and choose the colours that best match the patterned paper and colour in my image...its a pretty simple technique, but I find if I am really stuck for colour inspiration then this is always the best method.

I hope you like todays card, below is a list of the Promarker colours I used for Ruby:

Hair: Canary,Yellow, Primrose, Soft Lime and Lemon
Skin: Blush and Ivory
Clothes: Apple, Leaf Green, Amber, Pumpkin, Cerise, Magenta, Sky Blue and Cyan.

I have to say that I really love this card and the photo is tons better, I prepared myself and took the photo at the weekend when the daylight was at its best and walla!! my photo is heaps better for, in this case preparation payed off, i hope it pays off tomorrow (fingers and toes crossed)

I Love my Mums...

They are the best, always there for me like a best friend that will never let you down. They do everything they can to make you happy and to comfort you when you are not feeling so great and thats why Mothers Day is such a special day and one day I hope that my children will be there for me with a handmade breakfast and a cup of tea because its nice to know that the things you do in life are appreciated.

I ordered 2 bouquets of flowers to arrive to today one will be going to my Mum and the other is coming here for my Mum in-law I really cannot wait to see there reactions :o)
We are having a big roast dinner today with pork, yummy (sorry, if you are a vegetarian reader) and whats even better is there is home made rice pudding for afters, you really cannot get better than that in my opinion.
I said I would help out today in the kitchen, I am not a great cook, but I can lend a hand :o)
I will be visiting my Mum for a few hours as well and my husband and I will probably go over there for around 11:30, I know my Mum will be pleased to see us.

Another one for Mum

Three of the four Mothers Day cards that I made were sold at work this week so I was very happy about that, I just need to make one for my mum and one for my mum in-law and that I can do tomorrow (last minute again, oops).
I ordered two bunches of flowers today as well which should arrive at the my mums door and our door this Sunday and I cannot wait to hear their response, I love buying presents for people :o) thats one of the reasons why I love Christmas so much.

I am a little disappointed this evening as I was expecting to come home to find that my JustRite Stamp set had arrived ready for me to use over the weekend, but still no sign of it and its been a week now :o( perhaps it will arrive tomorrow (fingers crossed) I cannot wait to have a play with it, I have also ordered some Kraft card. I have seen this used quite a lot from the blogs I visit and I love the look especially with the faux stitching so as soon as that arrives I will be making some cards with that...these are my LAST (she says) purchases before my trip to the NEC Craft Show (soooo excited, eeeeeeee!!!!!) there will be so much stuff to buy there and I have to give myself a budget otherwise I will end up spending our entire house fund, lol and my husband will not be too pleased.
I am going to the craft show with my dear friend, Sarah, who is just as obsessed with crafting as I am so it should be a great day out with lots of wonderful things to buy and whats even better is it falls over the weekend after my birthday, which means a slight possibility of having a little more pocket money to go with.

Mums Day is approaching...

...fast this year!! I cannot believe that it is this weekend and although I started this year off with good intentions of being on time and having cards made for each birthday and occasion I am very behind.
I have orders from my workplace and my mother in laws workplace and I have only made 4 cards which is not good at all.
I know that next year will be the year where I am a little more organised because next year I will have a craft room (I know I keep mentioning this and you are probably fed up of hearing it now, but I am so super excited about having a desk to work at instead of a floor)
Anyhoo, here is one of my Mothers Day Cards

I have to apologise for the picture quality of my photos just lately, my room is very dark and has red curtains so when I take my pictures they don't look great and I have to really mess with them for them to be even slightly nice on the eye, another reason why I am looking forward to having an actual working environment.

I loved the outcome of this card although (here's a warning) my card was weighted too much on the left side and so it didn't stand up properly and kept rolling to the left (very frustrating and a huge design flaw, oops) however easily (and not so professionally) corrected by trimming the bottom two scallops, wallah!! a bodged card that stands properly now (hopefully whichever mum receives this will be too thrilled to notice the correction :o)
Another piece of news!! I have decided to purchase a Justrite Stamper. These are so amazing and will do wonders to the sentiments that I put on may cards, I cannot wait for it to arrive in the post. Check out the JustRite Stampers blog to see some glorious ideas using these stamps.

Oscar Night

My husband and I are huge film fans and we watch almost everything when it comes out in the cinema, we even have a monthly cinema pass that allows us to go to the movies as many times as we want which is awesome!!! So needless to say that we are also big fans of Oscar Night, so I booked today off work so that we could stay up late last night and watch them :o)
However...the Oscars wouldn't have finished here until 6am!!!!! and I could only make it to 3am until I started to nod off. So we started recording it and we are going to watch the rest today and so now I have to try really hard not to see the results.

Crochet Toadstools and Cupcakes

I have finally found some time to sit down with my laptop and get some serious blogging done and I have really missed it and have lots of catching up to do with all the beautiful blogs that I follow.

So what have I been up to...well I wasn't very well and then my husband was ill and then I was feeling poorly again, but now we are both feeling heaps better, thank goodness, I really hope we don't pick any more bugs up for a while. I blame the nasty weather that we have been having, I am beginning to forget what a sunny day looks like.

Apart from feeling ill I have been making some lovely Crocheted Toadstools and Cupcakes and I love them!!! They take minutes to make and are so cute they only measure 2" in height, so cute!!! and whats even better I didn't follow a single pattern, these are all my doing (although they were very simple, not much thinking behind the design really)

These will be added to the collection of things that I am hoping to sell at my craft fair in August, cannot wait, I have plenty of time to make hundreds of these little cuties.

Every time I make them the style changes a little as you can see from the photo above, the one on the left was my first attempt and he isn't quite as cute as my second attempt.

Long Time...

...No Blog.
I just wanted to let you all know that I am still here and that I havent forgotten my blog and that I do have lots to share with you, it has just been a little chaotic over the past few weeks and so my blog has suffered for it :o(

I was poorly ill last week and that equals no crafting and this week my poor husband is unwell ( I think he caught my lergy) so I have been nursing him which also equals no crafting. I have also been accepted for an interview so I have been preparing myself for that and this also equals no crafting so its been a non crafting couple of weeks for me, but hopefully this weekend things will be back to normal and I can share some more creative projects with you all.

I have been looking at how to make felt plushies they are so cute and since I have just sighned up for a craft fair in August I want some ideas that will compliment my crochet items. Check out these super cute pictures of some handmade examples I found on the web.

I have to admit that the other reason I have had no time for crafting is because I have been catching up on all my favourite shows which are:

Lost - Just started again and omg!!! its awesome
Supernatural - ahh I do love those Winchester boys
Glee - love, love, love it

and I will soon have Smallville, Fringe, Desperate Housewives and Tudors to watch...I think I watch a little too much TV hmmmm this equals no excercise and bad weight loss this week uh oh!!

Diet Update

Its going ok so far I have lost a total of 3lb in 3 weeks, so its quite a steady loss but a loss is a loss and its a little bit closer to my goal weight :o) and my clothes are starting to feel a little baggier which is a good sign.

My husband and I have been going for runs and we also went for a 5 mile bike ride as we are training to participate in the London to Brighton bike ride in June this year which is 54 miles so we have quite a bit of training to do eeek!! but it is all to raise money for the National Heart Foundation so its a fantastic cause and just the motivation we need.

Apart from running, cycling and eating healthy I have also been watching a new television programme called Glee and oh my goodness I am addicted I love it!! and have downloaded all the songs and have been singing and dancing to them all week. If you haven't had the pleasure of watching this programme and like me you love musicals then this is without a doubt a show that you will love :o)

My 1st Blog Candy

Alan plays the saxophone in a ska band. He sometimes wears a pork pie hat but it keeps falling off because of his mane. He plays indie and rock music on his ipod and likes retro music, he also taps his foot to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".

Here is another of my crochet animals from the super-cute crochet book by Nicki Trench that I got for Christmas.
I have to say that this is one of my most used crochet books, I absolutely love it and cannot wait to start my next project, which I think will be Bubbles the rabbit. I have had a few requests for Camilla the pony, so I am going to busy making these over the next weeks.

aaah...I do love a challenge

Another card for another challenge and I got to use my new Anya set again and anything where Anya stamps are involved is a good thing as I am pretty hooked on the gorgeous stamps by The Greeting Farm.

This particular card is my entry for this weeks challenge over on the Anyone For Anya? challenge blog and this week we were asked to create a card using black (check), white (check) and one other (check) and for my other colour you can see I chose pink :o) I have also made this card for the Passion for Promarkers Challenge this week which is called Girls Girls Girls.

Camilla the Pretty Pony...

...is the newest addition to my crochet collection and also the one that has taken me the longest to complete so far. She is very detailed and the four legs took me quite some time to complete. They are fairly easy to make, but I got a little bored of making them by the time I got to the fourth, but I just couldn't leave her unfinished and I am glad that I persevered. Above you will see a picture of me completing the fourth leg (My husband took the photo for me in case you were wondering whether I had a third hand, lol) and below you will see the lovely Camilla.

Camilla is very pretty and her favourite colour is pink. She is very clever and has won 1st prize at the local gymkhana in the class for 'The Pony The Judge Would Most Like To Own'. She loves running in the meadow with no tack so she can feel the breeze between her ears. She is an actress and has starred in lots of famous films. Taken from Super-Cute Crochet by Nicki Trench.

I am so pleased with her and was so surprised by how easy she was to make. When I was looking through the book this particular pattern caught my eye and I just knew that I wanted to make a Csamilla, but I was a little doubtful as to whether I would be able to make her. My husband convinced me to give it a go and walla!! here she is.

I have been for my second run today and it was easier than yesterday so I must be doing something right.

My husband and I have decided that its time to start a healthier lifestyle and we are currently in our second week and its killing me!! No pizzas, no chocolate, no sweets and basically nothing that it is remotely scrumptious :o( but on a plus side I have lost 1lb whoopie!!!

We have been watching The Biggest Loser and OMG!!! we are hooked and it has really inspired us to get off our bums and start going for runs.

Today we had our first run and I have realised how out of shape I am and so its inspired me to want to do it even more, ideally I would like to lose around 20lb which should bring me down a nice weight and my wardrobe will fit me again, all I know is that its going to be tough, I feel exhausted just thinking about it.

Anya Ink Challenge

This is my first competition entry of 2010 which is a little bad of me as I intended to submit one every week for competitions but its just been so hectic in these first weeks.

This is for the Anya Ink challenge and it has been a real challenge for me as I was only allowed to use one layer, so i decided to stamp my straight on to the card blank and then I coloured it using my Prisma pencils (they havent seen daylight for a while, but they were perfect for this as they don't blead through the card like Promarkers do)

I hope you like it, I wasn't too sure about it.

I have been very busy making ATC's with all my bits and pieces. They are great for using up the little scraps of paper that are just too pretty to throw away.

The three above are going to some lovely ladies that join in with the atc trail on UK Scrappers.

Baptism Card

My friend has asked me to make a Baptism card for a friend of hers who had their little boy Baptised last week and this is what I have come up with. I am really pleased with it.

Its not your usual Baptism card but she wanted something a little different, you cannot see from this picture but it does say "Congratulations on your Baptism" on the inside of the card.

!!Snow Update!!

Well the snow did fall here in Milton Keynes and has been very heavy we had around 5" of snow fall in just one night and so my office was officially closed at 10:30am on Wednesday so I enjoyed my extra day off from work :o) I took a walk to my Nan's house which is about a 40 minute walk from where I am, so not that far really. She made a nice cup of milky coffee and she had some yummy warm danishes waiting for me.

My Nan doesn't like to leave the house when it snows, so I thought she would be happy to have some company, but I had to leave early as the snow began to fall again whilst I was there.

We are forecast another load of snow this evening and we are supposed to get another 10cm and if that happens its going to be chaos as it is going to be sitting on top of the ice that is already on the ground.

I have been to Hobby Craft again this week (not good for my bank balance at all) and purchased loads of beautifully coloured wool to make some of the animals in my super cute crochet book. The lady in Hobby Craft was intrigued by all the colours and had to ask what it was that I was making :o)

I am hoping to make some Easter gifts and thought that the little chicks in my book would make nice gifts, I know its not chocolate, but I hope everyone will like them just as much.

More Snow...

...has been forecast to fall on Milton Keynes this evening and I have just heard that we are expected to get as much as 30cm, which is just insane!

This much snow also means that my office may be closed tomorrow, just when everyone was starting to get settled back in to the routine again.

I love snow, but I am a little worried about my husband as he has gone out to work and although there isn't any sign of snow at the moment it is due to come in overnight so he may be snowed in at work.

Todays card is very different to what I would normally create, but I actually like it. It's very simple, but it looks quite nice :o)

I love butterflies and was really pleased with the outcome of this card I got to use my new Martha Stewart punch that my lovely friend purchased for me whilst she was on her holiday in Florida. I love it and have been using it loads :o)

Today was my first day back at work after the Christmas holidays so needless to say I am very tired right now and intend to sit watch tv and do not a lot else actually.

It wasn't too bad in the office today however it was absolutely freezing as the heating wasn't working and so we were all wearing our coats, scarves and gloves until midday when it finally started to warm up a little, brrrrrr, hopefully tomorrow won't be quite so cold.

My wonderful friend gave me the Bathtime Anya set as a Christmas gift and I love it! Its going to be great for making mothers day gifts and cards and it may even come in handy when making my sisters Hen Night invitations :o)

Here is another creation that I have made using the wonderful Super - Cute Crochet book that I received for Christmas.

I just love it at the moment, they take only a few hours to make great gifts :o)

My sister is a huge fan of pigs so I gave Mitzi to her and she loved her and now wants me to make a guinea pig, looks like I am going to be busy.

I am going to start making some of the chicks and bunnies for Easter presents as well :o)

I hope you all had a wonderful new year. We decided to go out this year as we normally stay in with a bottle of bubbly, but this year my sister had a few spare tickets for a bar that she goes to. It was a great night but I was feeling a tad delicate yesterday :o(

No New Years resolutions so far this year. I find if I set myself resolutions then I never stick to them, but there are a few things that I have in my mind that I will try to do and if I dont do them then I am only letting myself down.

Recently together with her friend, Tiggy she started a protest group called PETA - Pigs for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - and have organised a fundraising barn dance. One friend suggested they put on a hog roast. She was not amused!

This lovely little character was made using a book I received for Christmas called Super - Cute Crochet and believe me they really are super cute.

Mitzi only took me a day to complete including her little dress :o) she measures 5" (13cm) so she fits perfectly in the palm of my hand.

You will be seeing more of these little cuties through out 2010 they are just so cute.

Well it has been a wonderful 2009 and I am hoping that 2010 will be just as wonderful. This year holds a lot for myself and my husband as this will be the year where we will be buying our very first home together, which also means that I will finally have have my own craft room and I wont have to work on the floor anymore hooray!!!

Have Yourself A Very...

...Merry Christmas Everyone.

Its been a wonderful year in my blogging world, I have reached 67 followers which I never thought I would do, I have over 1000 visits and have blogged over 100 times this year.

I have also had my 1st Bloggerversary, I just cannot believe how quickly the time has gone. This time last year I was very new to blogging and was wishing for a Cricut machine for Christmas, this year I have my Cricut machine and have used it quite a lot in my crafting and although it has transformed my style I don't have that to thank for where I am in my crafting knowledge today, for this I have all of you to thank. The beautiful blogs that I have come across over the past year have given me the inspiration I needed to transform how I think and the items I use.

So today's post is to just Thank You to all of you and to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I am always very busy this time of year spending time with family and friends and getting ready for the festivities so I doubt that I will have the chance to blog again this year, but I will speak to you all again in 2010, which I hope will be as fantastic as this year has been.

Some Feedback...

...is a good thing, but today I was told that quite a few people at my mother in laws place of work feel that my cards do not cater for older people...I have to agree, however my cards are something that I do for fun and so I make cards that make me smile or are made with my favourite images and this is part of my style, so I was a little upset by this. But I am going to take the feedback on board and I am going to have a look for some stamps that would suit an older persons tastes...I have always loved the Stamping Up stamps so I may call on one of the demonstrators that I follow to get hold of some more adult images.

3 Challenges 1 Card

I have finally managed to get round to making a card for one the competition blogs that I follow, it has been a while since I submitted a card and I have to say I have really missed joining in the fun.

So I was super pleased to find out today that the card that I made for the Anyone for Anya? challenge this week also fits in with the Passion for Promarkers challenge as well!!

Anyone for Anya? challenge this week is called 'Make a Fake'. I love the idea behind this and thoroughly enjoyed putting the card together for the challenge. We were asked to put something fake on to our cards and so my fake item is the lace effect which I made using my Fiskars border punch.

Passion For Promarkers challenge blog have asked everyone to make a card with a vintage look to it and so with the different shades of brown and distressing on my card which I thought would fit perfectly with this weeks theme.

Anya Ink challenge blog also has a vintage theme this week so this card is really doing the rounds in the challenges :o) It was Tracey Feeger that pointed me in the direction of this challenge blog and as soon as I saw the lovely cards made by the design team I wanted to take part, so that's another weekly blog added to my 'to do' list. Should keep me busy

A Little Altering...

New Moon Movie & Thank you

Was fantastic! My husband and I went to see at the cinema yesterday and I loved it, although the cinema was filled with giggling, lovestruck teenage girls all cooing over Edward and Jacob...cant say I can blame them though they are lovely eye candy.

I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who replied to my post entitled 'What Would You Do?' All of your replies were very useful and beneficial in my decision making and I can now tell you that I have purchased some more very lovely Promarker colours, however I still have 40 colours left to collect, phew!! there are tons.

I purchased my pens from Tracy at Dies To Die For and she threw in a free stand for my pens, it holds 12 so I think I will have to get some more of these another 8 should do the trick.

I have used one of the Pink Cat Studio digital stamps on my mini card for today...they are so cute and quick and easy to colour in, I want them all, but sadly this is the only one I have of the new digi stamps at the moment.

A Must See Movie

2012 starring John Cusak is absolutely fantastic, I loved every second of, so much so that I am begging my husband to go and see it again tonight. It is definately my film of the year and definately reccommend that you go and see it.

What Would You Do?

I was wondering whether you could help me out with a decision that I know is going to drive me insane and as it is a crafting related question I thought where better to get advice than my blog where I have lots of like minded friends.
I have recently been given a reward from the place where I work and it will be paid in to my wages for this month, well as I am having to be 'Mrs Sensible' with my money at the moment the majority of this is going in to my savings towards our house, however my wonderful husband said that I should treat myself to something as it is my reward.

So heres my question...

Do I buy the rest of the Promarkers to complete my collection or......Do I buy 1 of the Copic Ciao sets?

Its a huge decision for me to make and a lot of money so I dont want to make a rushed decision.

So Exciting...

Todays card is inspired by the work of the very talented Donna she makes the most wonderful mini cards and I have to say I have become a fan of this style.

To create the base of the card I cut out two of the largest shapes from the labels one set and scored along the top of one of them and then glued the top section to the unscored piece to create the card base - but before glueing them together make sure you emboss first otherwise it might get a little tricky.

Its Getting Colder...

...and colder as each day passes here in the UK. The temperatures have dropped quite dramatically in the last few days, so all my hats, gloves, scarves and coats have all been removed from the winter box and will definately be needed today brrrrrr it looks really grey out there today.

My Craft Fair

Well it went quite well and it was so nice to see my cards selling and to recieve feedback.
It also gave me an idea of what I am missing as I had lots of people asking for New Home cards, Get Well Cards and cards with ages on them, so the next fair I do I will need to put some of these together.
The photo above is a picture of me at my stall surrounded by all my cards and the photo below is a picture of my whole stall and a glimpse of my mum who helped me out yesterday.

I am so glad that I participated and the school made lots of money which is fantastic and hopefully I will be able to hold another stall in the new year, but for now I think I need a little break.

Little Princess

The Princess Anya stamp from The Greetings Farm is the newest addition to my stamp collection and I am absolutely thrilled with her she has been promoted to my stamp of the week. She is fun to colour in and just looks beautiful when placed on a card.

I have been to visit another little princess this weekend as my friends have just had a new baby daughter called Amelia and she is soooo sweet, she made me feel all broody and had to constantly say over and over in my head "house first then babies" :o)

A Special Guy...

...Ian from The Greetings Farm are fabulous and so nice to colour in and work with I really enjoyed making this card and its a male card, hooray!! I dont have mant stamps that suit mens birthdays but these Ian stamps are absoultely great.

I have now been allocated stall number 14 for the craft fair on Saturday and I have 60 cards made, but I am hoping to get a few more made tomorrow.

Some Time Off...

...work this week, which is much needed in order to get some more cards made for my craft fair oon Saturday and my friends have just had a new baby girl, who I will be visiting later in the week, I cannot wait to meet her.

I have been busy making cards and buying craft materials over the past week and the postal stikes dont really seem to be having too much of an effect on my orders from Dies to Die for so far.

I have just purchased Mermaid Anya, My Guy Ian and Princess Anya from The Greetings Farm range and I have to say there isnt a single thing that I dont like about their stamps and will be buying more and more of them :o)

On Saturday I went to my friend Sarahs wedding and she looked lovely, she had made all her own Jewellery, her handmade tiara looked gorgeous and she had used her cricut machine to cut out some beautiful butterflies from the Hannah Montana cartridge which were fabulous, she really worked hard making everything look perfect.

Monday was another busy day for me as my managers had sent me on a course callled Essential Skills for Office Professionals, but it was in London so I had a bit of travelling to do yesterday and was so pleased to get home to my nice cosy bed zzzzz.

Five a Day

Todays card was made using some gorgeous little stickers from Paperchase. They are so adorably cute and very trendy, I didnt have a clue what I was going to do with them when I purchased them, but knew that I just had to have them.
So using my new circle punch, coredinations card and the swiss dots cuttlebug folder and hey presto I created this card, very simple and very colourful.

I have been to the dentists today, I have been dreading it for weeks because (she says lowering her head in shame) I havent been to see the dentist in over a year...i know very shamful, however my teeth are in perfect condition :D yay!!! I wont be leaving it so long before my next appointment.

...make life blossom, this is so true. Without my friends and family I would have noone to share my creations with :o( so this has got to be one of my favourite sentiments from my collection.

Whilst on the subject of friends I would like to say congratulations to my friend Sarah as she will be getting married at the weekend, I know she follows my blog so I cannot post her wedding card on here just yet :o)

I have been browsing a few blogs just lately and have found some gorgeous inspirational ideas from Donna, who is also a recent follower of mine, thanks Donna. If you havent had the pleasure of visiting her blog then I would highly suggest you hop on over there now.
I love her cards and have actually started making a few cards using my nestabilities and I love them, they are only 4x4 so they are the perfect size for most of my stamps and they are so adorably small and yet really effective. I will blog these later in the week.

I seem to have lost my way a little with my blog and I havent been posting the materials that I have used or the promarker colours that I used and for that I am sorry. I will get back to listing everything after the craft fair...my blog will again been my main priority.

Turning Back Time

This morning I stretched out my arms and had a big yawn and thought to myself "oh its 8am", I went downstairs and made myself a tea and sat quietly sipping it and enjoying the morning, then!! I realised that it wasnt 8am at all it was 7am because the clocks went back last night here in the UK...a big smile spread across my face as I realised that I have one whole hour more of my weekend :o) Another of the many reasons why I love this time of year.

I am feeling a little better today, so I think the card making worked yesterday and I have lots more to make and do today so with a little luck I should be fully recovered from this bug by the end of the day.

I am feeling poorly...

...which is just not good at all :o( I hate being ill, it's so demotivating. However I have decided that it will not beat me!! I am going to get my craft stuff out and start making cards, no matter what. I am hoping that because card making is so theraputic that it will be good for me and with the help of some Lemon flavoured Lemsip by my side that my stamps, paper and shiny, pretty things will help me survive this icky bug.

On a brighter note I discovered yesterday that Pink Cat Studio now have 2 new stamp sets and (drum roll please....brrrrrrrrrr) They have loads and loads of digital images as well and they are all extremely cute, this is very good news for us UK dwellers because due to the postal strikes that we have going on at the moment it is taking a little longer for our beloved craft products to make it to us quickly to feed our addictions, but with the digital PCS images its instant, now you cant get more fantabulous than that can you!?
See, just typing about crafting has made me feel better :o)

I do love Imaginisce Stamps...

...they are just such simple little images that take seconds to colour in, but make beautiful cards for all ages and genders. This cute little lion is a particular favourite of mine :o)

Its not a very long post today as I have to go make more cards and crocheted things for my fair, I am starting to worry that I dont have enough to sell...I have made around 50 cards so far and I have 4 crocheted baby hats and a pair of baby booties so far so I am slowly getting there, but lots more to do.

I have already sold a baby hat to a lady at work and today I recieved an email from my work colleague with pictures of her new baby girl wearing the hat I made, I felt a real sense pride...knowing that something I made is keeping a baby's head warm makes me feel very pleased with myself.

Fuzzy Panda

As you know I have been teaching myself how to crochet over the last few weeks and I have been scouting the web looking for free crochet patterns to have a go at and thats when I came across this cute little guy.
This was a free pattern that was part of a crochet along and I really wanted to give it a go, so I went out and gathered all the equipment I needed and got started.
It took me about a week to finish it and I have to say I am pretty impressed with myself.
I have shown him to my friends and family and they have all fallen in love with him and my sisters have requested that they would like one each for christmas, but they want him/her in different colours (looks like I am going to be busy over the next 12 weeks) and it should be good fun.

I have just returned from the cinema, I went to see Julie and Julia with my good friend Tanya and I really enjoyed the movie and thought it would be very appropriate to blog about it :o) If I didnt live with the inlaws I would probably cook loads more than I do, I just cant wait to have a home of my own where I can be a real wife to my husband.

I dont have any pictures or creations for you today, but I just wanted to let you all know that I am here and I am thinking about you because lets face it without you I am pretty much just chatting away to myself.

I promise that I will do some real blogging this week because I am now on holiday from work for an entire week hurrah!!! which is a good thing because I am really in need of some crafting time, its been a while since I sat down and made some cards or anything for that matter.

We are also going to Ireland for a couple if days this week, which I am super excited about because we got it on a really good deal...£8 return flight (yes i know awesome right) and then £27 for the hotel for both myself and my husband (again awesome). Woke Up This Morning...

...sun shining, birds singing and arhhhh its a Friday...wait...no its not...its only Thursday grrrrrr...have you ever done that? It is possibly one of the most annoying feelings.So needless to say I have now come crashing back in to the land of reality where it is only Thursday and where I still have 2 days to go before the weekend gets here, oh well atleast the sun is still shining and the birds are still singing :o)

Well todays cards is steering away from the Anyas, I have used them so much recently that I felt it was time for a change and so I got my Hooty Owl set out, they are just soooo cute and this card is also pretty simple, which I have to say I prefer.

I have been trying out different styles and I think that I prefer the simple approach with nothing too fussy on it.

...I think my paper crafting mojo is returning :o) sorry to have been mia for so long, I am now back to my card making, but I am still learning new techniques with my crocheting as well.

I am hoping to start participating in the Passion for Promarkers and Anyone for Anya? challenges again soon as well, its just been a crazy few weeks :o(

My sister has now decided on her wedding dress which is fantastic, its gorgeous and did bring a tear to my eye when she said it was the one.

This week I have been masterin my baby beanies and managed to make this for a lady at work who is expecting her new family member in October.

I think that for the craft fair that I am preparing for in November I will make some more of these and sell them in my cricut bags. I have also made some smaller hats that I am dontaing to the special care baby unit which is local to where I am living.

Oh Dear...

...I am not being a very good blogger, its been well over a week since my last post and unfortunately my paper crafting mojo is still on the fritz :o(

I am hoping that it will return at some point this week

However my crocheting has become a lot better, I am now making baby hats, booties, blankets and more and so I have decided to attend the Stitch n Bitch tonight.

They get a group of young people together to make things for charity, which I thought was a lovely idea and a fab way of making new friends and learning new things.

Tonight will be my first time there and so i am really looking forward to it. They have a lovely looking cafe and cumfy seating areas where I guess you can stitch n bitch, lol.

Dont worry paper crafting friends I will be posting some cards on here soon including the wedding invite that my sister decided on at the weekend, I havent abandoned my paper crafting hobby, just trying out new things :o)

Oh No!!!

I appear to have lost mycrafting mojo :0( which is a complete disaster as my sister has just announced that she will be getting married on the 24th September 2010 and has asked me if I would put together some invitation samples for next weekend!!! arghhhh!!! what do I do?

I have been playing with a few ideas, but nothing looks right.

If anyone knows where I can find some wedding invite inspiration from, please let me know as this is becoming a real challenge for me.

Take a deep breath.... ahhh, thats better.

On a plus side to things I have started crocheting (Warning!!) Crochet is highly addictive and I have already purchased two books, one is a technique guide and the other is for when I get a little better and that is crochet flowers, which look beautiful, cant wait to get those through the post.

I got hooked on this (excuse the pun) when I saw that my mum was making a baby blanket for a family member and I decided that as my paper crafting mojo is on vacation that I would try my hand at something a little different and so I went to HobbyCraft purchased some wool and a crochet hook and my mum taught me how to get started and walla! I have the makings of my very own baby blanket :o) This is going to be for my friends who are expecting a little baby in October, which isnt that far away, so as much as I love blogging I better go and get a wriggle on whith the remainder of my blanket.

PFP #14 & AFA #2 in one card

I really hope its not too late for this weeks Passion for Promarkers challenge, I have been super busy and havent had any time to upload to my blog :o( and I have missed it and I just hope that this is submitted with enough time as the deadline is today arghhh!!! We had to use all the purple tones this week, which I enjoyed because i love the colour purple.

Due to my lack of time I have had to combine two challenges in one here so this is also my submission to the Anyone for Anya challenge blog, where a sketch was provided, I found it a real challenge working to the sketch and manageing to get everything to fit on to my card.

This particular card was for my friends birthday over the weekend and she loved it, I even incorporated a handy little envelope which held the bracelet that I got for her.

AFA Sugar & Spice Challenge #1

It is so exciting to be completing the first ever Anyone for Anya? challenge.

The challenges are running every sunday and this weeks theme is Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice, so we were able to use nall oure girly things on our cards this week and I have to say I absolutely loved this challenge, you should definately hop on over and have a look at the DT cards, they are beautiful.

I love and adore this Miss Anya stamp and lets face it you cant get girlier than this and I even used glossy accents over the bags to give them a shiny effect, but you cant really see it in this photo :o(

PFP Week 13 - Pumpkin & Prussian, Halloween Theme

For this weeks Passion for Promarkers challenge we have been asked to create a card using the colours Pumpkin and Prussian and it had to be a Halloween themed card. I have to admit this was a huge challenge for me as I hav enever made a Halloween card before and dont own any stamps, however I thought my Little Goth Girl would suit the theme perfectly

Here is a closer look at her, she is such a cute image and actually one of my favourites. I have used some of the techiques from previous PFP weekend tutorials on this one.

I downloaded the graduation Ian and Anya from The Greeting Farm website and I absolutely love them. My sister has just recieved her AS Level results and will soon be going off to university and hopefully graduating one day and I realised that I didnt have any graduation stamps or cards, so I made these.

Well I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far, I will be watching "How I Met Your Mother" for most of the day and maybe some Gossip Girl as I need to catch up before they all start again in September, so exciting!!
However sadly for me my holiday ends on Monday and its back to work :o( and my poor husband is back in work tonight, but on a happier note True Blood is on tomorrow night, so looking forward to that :o)

Our 2nd Anniversary

My husband and I celebrated our 2nd year of marriage yesterday, I just cannot believe where the time has gone, it feels like only yesterday I was waiting in my dress for the wedding car to arrive to take me to the church.
We have our traditions on the day of our anniversary, one of them is to go to our favourite restaurant and the other is to sit and reminisce over our wedding photos :o) which is one of my favourite things to do. In our third year together we will be buying our first home together, I cannot wait.

PFP Week 12 - Rose Pink & Cocoa

Its week 12 on the Passion for Promarkers challenge blog and we have been asked to use Rose Pink and Cocoa as the predominant colours this week and I even tried out last weeks weekend tutorial and it worked perfectly on the trousers of my Sugar Nellie image.

I really enjoyed this weeks colour combination and took this opportunity to make another christmas card for my craft fair.

60th Anniversary

This was made for a friend at work, she needed a card for her grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. I didnt want to make something to cartoony, so I didnt use any of my stamps, instead I kept it quite simple and use chipboard numbers which i covered with glitter to coordinate with decorative papers and I love how it turned out.

Girly Girl

Todays card was one I made last week for my sisters birthday, I have 5 sisters so I have quite a lot of girly cards to make in one year, but I do like to make them unique and as this particular sister has short hair I needed to give Anya a haircut and I think she looks rather good with short hair.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Anya stamps this is what her looks like usually and this is the image on the envelope of my card and here I used the black and white technique that I learnt from the Passion for Promarkers website.

PFP Week 11 - A Sketch & Any Colours

So here I am at my 3rd entry to the Passion for Promarkers challenge blog and this week it is a sketch and you can use any, yes any promarkers you like, which is great for those who dont have all the colours yet.

I have chosen Pastel Yellow and Pastel Blue, now you might think that my bear looks a little odd and that is because

1. He is blue and
2. I have used my blender pen over the whole bear in small circular motions to get a mottled fur effect.

I saw this technique used with copics and was keen to see if our good old Promarkers could do the same and they can, I love them more and more every day :o)

Anyone For Anya?

As you may know I have entered a card to the new Anyone For Anya? challenge blog to become a member of their design team, we were given a sketch (see previous post) to follow and this is waht I came up with.

Spruce It Up

Today thought I would share an idea with you that a friend of mine gave me. She told me that there were some really cheap pads for sale in the local supermarket that would be really good for gifts if you had the time to spruce them up a bit, so whilst I was doing my shopping I decided to pop by the stationary section and thats when I cam across these for 39p each (bargain),

so I grabbed 4 of them and they have been sat in my cupboard for a few weeks now, so yesterday i decided that I really needed to use them and as its my mums birthday next week I thought I would make it for her and here is the finised article, not bad if I must say so myself.
I think that nearer christmas I will make one for each of my work friends, hope you like it :o)

Also, I have decided to apply to be a design team member for the Any One For Anya? challenge blog. All you have to do is create a card using this sketch

...and still going strong :o) I cannot believe that I have reached the 100 post mark, this is quite awesome for me as 100 posts ago I didnt really know an awful lot about the blogging world and had no idea of all the joys it woulkd create for me.

I have learnt so much and love sharing my ideas with all of you who follow me and I love the fact that people gain inspiration from my creations as I do them.

However blogging has also taken me down the "I must have that" road so I have spent more money since having a blog, which isnt always a bad thing.

I hope in my next 100 blogs to have mastered vtdeo tutorials and hope to incorporate them in to my blog some how as this is something I have found extremely useful, I also hope to have some blog candies now and again and perhaps become a design team member for one of my favourite blogs (that would be awesome)

I purchased a couple of the Gorjuss Girl stamps this month and I have to say that I am addicted to them and will probably get some more in the near future :o)

DCWV Rockstar Papers...

...are fantastic and so good for making cards for the non girly girls among us or even for the rockstar wanabe boys out there.
My friend very kindly gave me this DCWV (Die Cuts With a View) paper stack and it is awesome and works superbly with this Anya stamp.
This card is inspired by my sister, Charlotte because she loves anything thats a little gothic looking with dark colours and skull and cross bones.

The inside is decorated using the scraps left over from what I used on the front of the card.
